CHAPTER 2: GLOBAL E-BUSINESS

Information system is the process of improving the core business lies in the business, so it's important to know what is meant by "business process". Business processes means refers to the method in which the work is managed, coordinated, and focused to produce valuable products or services. Business processes are the work flow of raw materials, information, and knowledge of a set of activities. Business processes also refers to the unique way in which management chooses to coordinate work.

This process can be broken down into a number of different steps such as advertising jobs agent contact points, collecting a cover letter, resume review, interviewing candidates, rank the candidates, making staffing decisions, and engage employees in the civil service system such as teaching, health, and pension. At some of these businesses, this process can be slow and inefficient, where other business, it can be run quickly and very efficiently. One of the main objectives of the information system is to enable a highly efficient business processes.
Business processes can be a source of competitive strength if it can allow companies to innovate or run it better than its competitors. Business processes also become a liability if it is based on the way to work that has been using that hinder alertness and efficiently in the organization.

How to Improve Business Processes Information Technology: Efficiency and Change?

The two main ways that information systems improve business processes:
• Improve existing processes
efficient
• Allows a whole new process for changing business

Information system automates many steps in the business processes that were previously done manually such as credit checking clients, or obtain billing and shipping orders. Current information technology can do much more. Information can change the way a business works and encourage new business model entirely. In other words, the information can be enable
all part of new business processes.

E-business refers to the use of digital technology and the Internet to execute major business processes in the company. Electronic commerce is part of e-business related to the purchase and sale of goods and services over the internet. E-Government refers to the application of Internet and networking technologies to digitally enable government relations and public sector institutions, relations with
society, businesses and other government extension.
